THE VISIONS ARE REAL: Faith is based on revelation
When a man is born again, he is expected to know and see the very inheritance he has received. Knowledge regulates everything that happens to us . This knowledge is not just what you memorized but what is part of you. So when we speak of faith and revelation, it begins with knowing who you are . Paul understood this so he prayed for the Ephesians church.
Ephesians 1
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
 16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Paul prayed that the eyes of their mind be flooded with light (enlightened) then the end result is that they may know the expectation of their calling of salvation which is the glorious riches in the saints. Part of this inheritance is the exceeding greatness of God’s power at work in us. We have to see how great this power is . Our mind must come to see this power . It has to become part of our consciousness. There is so much in the believer by the new birth. But his mind has to comprehend this for him to experience it. The accurate knowledge which comes with our eyes being enlightened is what makes faith to be natural for us . How then does this knowledge comes ?
It is by staying with God’s word , renewing our mind , meditating on God’s word and acting on the word and prayers especially praying in tongues. The believer is instructed to feed on the word every time. God’s word is the tool of revelation and transformation for the believer. It is what makes us to see who we truly are . This revelation which comes by staying with God’s word is what can make us always fruitful in season and out of season (Psalm 1: 1-3).
You must learn to stay with God’s word until you see it as it was revealed to the apostles. You must allow your mind to catch the vision of the truth of God’s word. This happens in going back to the word over and over again. When you see this truth, what do you do next? You keep the vision because the visions are real. This you do in MEDITATION AND SPEAKINGS of what you saw in God’s word.
1 Timothy 4
13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all
Notice, Paul told Timothy to give attention to doctrine and also not to make light of the prophetic words. He is to MEDITATE on these things. The things here refer to God’s word and endowments he had received by laying on of hands with prophecies. See what will be the end result: ‘‘ profiting may appear to all’’ . This means that the extent at which you give yourself wholly to God’s word and prophecies with spiritual encounters, is the extent at which it will be evident in your life .
The life of a Christian is a life of sight. So have you seen it ? Have you seen how powerful you are ? Have you seen what it means to be righteous? Have you seen what it means to be forgiven? To see it , meditate on it , pray with it and keep it in your words.
When you see it , you must give yourself wholly to it and keep it in your words.
This spiritual sight as we said begins with knowing God’s word. Now it also involves what you see and know in the Spirit. Once you see it , you must believe it and keep it in your words. Let’s see how Paul use this to save himself and others in a life threatening experience.
In Acts 27(KINDLY read the entire chapter of Acts 27) , Paul was to go meet Caesar. First, we see that by the Spirit, Paul was able to know that the journey will be dangerous.
Acts 27:
10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
The people didn’t believe Paul (Verse 11- 14). The centurion chose to believe the ship master than Paul, the prisoner. This shows us many times by the Spirit, we can know things even when they are no physical things to show for it .
No long after Paul has spoken a great wind arose called Euroclydon (Verse ). This wind ought to claim the life of everyone in the ship. See how Paul used sight, Prayers and words to supernaturally wrought the supernatural deliverance.
Acts 27
21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
Go back and read the above verses again. Paul was able to declare boldly to over 200 persons in the ship that no life will be lost because of the vision he saw of an angel and what the angel told him. Pay attention to verse 25, you will realize that Paul had complete trust on what he was told in a vision. This is was what made him to be able to boldly declare what he saw . We must learn that in trouble when we pray to God and see or hear answers, we must believe what we see and hear therefore speaking it boldly like Paul did. This is how faith works. What you see or know by the spirit must be spoken despite the prevailing situation. Have you seen it ? Oh know that the visions and words are REAL no matter the prevailing circumstance. As at the time Paul was talking, they still had prevailing dangers from the tempest. But this didn’t deter him from speaking. If you read through from verse 25 to the end of the chapter you will notice Paul kept saying what he saw. In fact, he had to eat and encouraged others to do same too because he has seen it . Glory to God.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.
You see that Paul declared boldly “there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.” Verse 34.
This shows how much he believed what God showed him. This experience and standing in faith resorted in their deliverance. According to the words of Paul, no life was lost .
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
They all escaped safe to the land.
Have you seen it?
Have you caught the vision of God’s word?
Have you seen and heard those answers?
Have you perceived it ?
Then STAY with it knowing fully well that the visions are real. Do not allow experiences and circumstances make you say things contrary to what you saw or heard. Just like Paul, be bold enough to keep declaring it every time believing that which you have seen despite the experience. MEDITATE ON THEM. Give your life wholly to them that your profiting in what you saw or heard may appear to all. Glory to Jesus.
