ONE GOD; THE TRUTH ABOUT TRINITY PART 1

ONE GOD; THE TRUTH ABOUT TRINITY PART 1
We serve one God as seen in scriptures . We must first REMOVE  FROM OUR  MIND the word TRINITY. It is never used in the Bible. What we see in the Bible is One God, The God head. We will look at all of these. Christ is the explanation  of the scriptures. We have looked at this in the last concluded series on the message.  For we to fully understand anything taught in the scriptures, we just look at it from Jesus. He is the truth that sets free. John 8:32 and 36.
Let’s see this about the origin of the word trinity
The word  was first used by Constantine, a Roman Emperor in AD 335.  Constantine, although held by many to be the first “Christian” Roman Emperor, was actually a sun-worshiper who was only baptized on his deathbed. It was in this time that the truth about Christ was not obvious in the body of Christ . All of these ideas had their proponents. The unity of belief of the original Church was lost as new beliefs, many borrowed or adapted from pagan religions, replaced the teachings of Jesus and the apostles. This is popularly called the dark ages. Many practices emerged in this period that are not in the doctrine of Christ. The Christians were at the mercy and leadership  of the Government which was full of pagans.  A classic example of this practice  was the dispute over the nature of Christ that led the Roman emperor Constantine the Great to convene the Council of Nicaea (in modern-day western Turkey) in A.D. 325. It was in this council that the term trinity was coined to explain God  father, the son and the Holy Spirit.
We can not use this concept to explain God. We can only use Scriptures.  Scriptures are profitable for doctrine. We are expected to take what the scriptures said about a subject. We are not to have our concept and look for Bible to support it.
2 Tim 3. 15  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
The profit of scriptures is in it been the source of our doctrine (explanations).
For what is popularly called trinity, Scriptures will determine our take on it. I choose to call it the God head not TRINITY. The reason being that THAT THE WORD TRINITY  is not a Bible word. It is never used in the Bible. So when we talk of GOD head, let’s not bring anything trinity in view.  The first truth I want to establish in this subject is that God is ONLY seen in Christ.
THE INVISIBLE GOD IS ONLY VISIBLE IN JESUS CHRIST
1 Timothy 1: 17  Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Our God is invisible. It is impossible to see God. The book of John further buttresses this truth.
John 1: 18  No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
This is clear, NO man has seen God before Christ came. Christ is the first time God was manifest in the flesh.
John in Introducing Jesus clearly stated that He is the word made flesh
John 1
14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15  John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16  And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17  For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
18  No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Take note of the Emphasis. So what did the people in the old testament (before Christ) see? What of what is popularly called theophany ( The manifestation of Jesus before He came via the virgin birth of Mary ) ? They are all manifestations of angels who came in the name of God. God was never revealed in human form before CHRIST came.
Jesus also confirmed this in John 5.
John 5: 37  And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
Jesus clearly stated this. NO MAN has seen God before him. In that man disobeyed the gospel by taking instructions from Angel (satan), man was given to the administration of angels. Many things that God did with man was through the instrumentality of angels. For more on the fall of man read what happened  in the garden part one and part two.
LET ME STILL EMPHASIZE THE FACT NO MAN HAS EVER SEEN GOD BEFORE CHRIST CAME. John 3.  13  And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
Where did Enoch go then if no man has ascended to heaven ? Heaven simply means unseen realm or the sky. What Jesus is saying here is that NO MAN HAS BEEN TO THE UNSEEN realm where God dwells. Many men, angels, even demons are in unseen realms(heaven ). That is why we see principalities in heavenly  places in  Ephesians. Many beings exist in the unseen realm. But, no one has been to the unseen realm where God dwells.
John 6
32  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33  For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
34  Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Jesus told them that the bread they ate in the time of Moses though it was from the unseen realm (heaven) but not from where God dwells. Christ is the only one that has come from the heaven where God dwells. He is the visibility of God.
1 Tim 3.16  And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
There is no controversy in this matter . The mystery concerning God is the truth that God was manifest in Christ. Any picture of God we see in the Old testament part of the Bible must be subject to what we see in Christ. Jesus is not a view  point of God, HE IS THE ONLY VIEW POINT of God. If people have been talking about a particular man and after sometime, a man came and says I am the one you have been talking  about. It is wisdom to summit what ever you have heard about the person to the man who came as the person.  This is the way we interpret  the views we see about God before Christ came. Man of God are you now saying Jesus is God ? Let’s look at John 14.
John 14
1  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2  In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5  Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8  Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
If you look at the above scripture carefully, you will notice first from verse 1, Jesus said in my father’s house are many mansions. To show that it is figurative a mansion cannot be in a house. Whenever something doesn’t make sense normally you know it is a figure. Jesus was not talking of a physical building. Some persons has gone to the extent of saying that Jesus is in heaven building houses with their tithes and offerings using  John 14. That is wrong.
When Jesus said in my father’s house are many mansions, he meant there are many abode and  dwelling . The word mansion just means abode, dwelling which is not necessarily a physical dwelling. So, Jesus was saying in my father’s house are many rooms, abode, and it is the abode He goes to prepare in his death, burial and resurrection. Now many can come to God via what Jesus has done. The same word mansion Greek word *monē*  was translated as abode in verse 23 of John 14
23  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
So, it is only possible to have God in us by what Jesus has done. Jesus didn’t come to show us the way. He came as the way. Thomas said He should show them the way to the father, He linked it to Himself
Then Philip asked a very important question SHOW US THE FATHER
Notice the reply in verse 9
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
In other words Jesus calls HIMSELF THE FATHER
Show us the father
Then look at me
See the phrase , IF YOU HAVE SEEN ME YOU HAVE SEEN THE FATHER. This means God is Christ like.
Not if you have seen the father you have seen me
This means I MAKE THE FATHER REAL. I am the father made visible.
Some persons have asked ?
IS JESUS GOD ?
THAT IS A CLEAR YES. Jesus is GOD MADE MANIFEST.
REMEMBER GOD IS INVISIBLE, SO YOU CAN ONLY SEE HIM IN CHRIST
DOES IT THEN MEAN THERE IS NO FATHER ? That is madness to think so.
So can we now say they are three? That is another error. Jesus is the father made manifest. He is the GOD MEN SEE. GOD IS INVISIBLE.
DO NOT CONCLUDE FOR ME.
I HAVE NOT SAID THERE IS NO FATHER OR HOLY SPIRIT.
I HAVE ONLY SAID JESUS IS THE FATHER MADE MANIFEST as we have  seen clearly from scriptures. But man of God, there are places in the scriptures where it seems the father, son and Holy Spirit were present like  in the baptism of Jesus*** Are you sure?
Watch out for part 2 of this. ONE GOD, the truth about trinity.
